Chapter 1 - Genesis
The Remnants were created in 2000, sitting around a table in the Dun Cow pub in Durham. Seven members of the illustrious
Durham University, deprived of a tour that year became the select founding members and decided to treat themselves, Edinburgh
and the future surfers of the internet to a mammoth trip even further North. You can see by the "Our First Tour" page that
we were fresh faced, bushy tailed and full of life*. The name originated from the desolution of the then Durham University
Men's Hockey Club, as that year saw it amalgamate with the ladies club to become DUHC. Hence we Remnants of that club decided
to honour the all important M that went missing. The Gorgeous was added because we could.

Chapter 3 - Acts of the Remnants
We set up the colours, themes, catch-phrases and reputation during the next few tours. Arrogance as Standard became our
tag line, and of course Palatinate and White were the colours. It dawned on us however that we should really attempt to take
part in a hockey playing tour, and a suitable venue was chosen. East Grinstead was the first incarnation of the hockey Remnants,
and to this end a further recruit was tried and tested, and passed with flying colours. Rogue also cut a mean figure between
the posts and thoroughly enjoyed his introduction to the team. This tour set up what we came to expect for the next couple
of years, and what we endevoured to achieve.
Chapter 5 - The Chairman's Letter to the Remnants
In January 2006, Toe rewrote the book on awesome weddings, marrying Becky and giving many Remnants hangovers for days. Realising
this was the way forward Rush followed this in April with a proposal to Vix, which she excepted without hesitation. There
then followed even better news with Toe & Becks (through many hours of practice) getting pregnant with little Stranici
Manito (real name TBC). 2007 then commenced and Rush & Vix tied the knot in Langley Castle overseen by to a full complement
of Remnants. It now just awaits the continuation of one of the trends...........drum roll please

Chapter 2 - The Book of Job Well Done
Following the outstanding Edinbra Tour, where reputations were both made and destroyed, it was decided to form at least
one tour every year from then on. It soon became apparent that we were going to have trouble congregating a full group with
the original numbers, and soon 2 even fresher faced freshers were inaugerated during the infamous Old Boys Weekend of 2001.
We unfortunately lost Robbie Dolan during the 2001/2002 season, and following this numbers were set for the forseeable
future.
Chapter 4 - Revelations
The Remnants moved on both on and off the field. Remnant House Alpha and Beta were set up in London, housing multiple
members of the team. Gradually we departed University and entered the working world. Acquiring high powered jobs was the norm
and achieved with aplomb. This only left one final boundary unexplored. With suitable panache Toe preceeded to propose to
his good lady over Xmas 2004 and the first Remnant Stag Tour became the order of the day. With Hallers frequently overseas
searching for Osama, Potts accepted his invitation to join and complete the cricle of trust again. It only
leaves me to write that the banter still flows with unrivalled potency after 5 years and I anticipate many more extended periods
of awesomeness in the future.
